I needed a local builder who would have the knowledge, practical expertise and reliability to accomplish an entire internal house renovation. Robert fulfilled the above character requirements to a satisfactory level and beyond from the start of the project to its completion. The project involved the rearrangement of living space and included work such as a garage conversion, a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, a new two flight bespoke staircase and a new patio.

 

GARAGE CONVERSION

Part of the project required the integral garage area to be converted into a living/dining area. Robert understood the legal and technical requirements to achieve this, from damp proofing and levelling the floor, laying of stone tiles and re-positioning the radiators to the final finishing touches of decorating.

 

KITCHEN

The new kitchen was to be positioned in a different location of the house. Robert was able to offer advice and assist with planning and installation on all aspects of the project. Appliances such as the gas oven and hob, extractor fan, microwave oven and dishwasher along with the cupboards, worktops, surrounding tiles and electrical points were perfectly installed. The new kitchen functions correctly, is ergonomically useable and it looks fantastic!

 

BATHROOMS

Robert paid careful consideration to all the aspects of the installation such as plumbing, tiling, underfloor heating, assembly of the bathroom suite and positioning of all electrical aspects. The installation for one of the shower cabins proved to be a challenge due to an oversight with the manufacturing design which Robert was able to resolve. Robert’s work resulted in two impressive looking bathrooms that function perfectly without any leaks!

 

STAIRCASE

One of the most challenging parts of the renovation was the requirement of a totally new, two flight bespoke staircase in a contemporary style, replacing the old, creaky, wooden staircase that had seen better days. Robert was open to the various possibilities that the stairwell space offered and was able to assist with its structural design. The completed staircase is practically on point and looks aesthetically pleasing.

 

PATIO

The patio in the rear garden originally looked old and tired. Robert turned it into an outside area to be proud of. He also paid special attention to two drainage manhole covers which now blend into the patio rather than being the obvious eyesores that they used to be.

 

IN CONCLUSION

 

Of all the builders that I had asked to provide an initial quote for the work Robert was the one that was enthusiastic and realistic with his response, which helped me to achieve the professional result that I was looking for. Robert’s technical knowledge has been appreciated; he is able to suggest and execute solutions to challenges that inevitably arise with major projects. Robert reliably turned up for work on time and occasionally stayed late working into the evening so that the required planning permission deadline for building regulations were achieved. Robert also offers professional project management and has reliable contacts for specialised work requiring certified welding, house electrics and the installation of Gas Safe appliances. Robert is at ease working, as he is working and liaising with other contractors. Robert aims to please; he has the correct tools for the job, is thorough with his work, polite in his manner and he comes highly recommended.

Robert and his team did a complete full renovation on my three-bed property in Thornton Heath. I had several quotes from different tradesmen but I chose Robert because I found him very helpful and friendly and he had good ideas for the renovation.

Their workmanship and professionalism is exceptional. They know how to look after their customers and had listened as to what I wanted - my initial ideas of the property were a bit extravagant however, Robert did give me other idea's as to how I can bring out the full potential of the property. Work carried out on my property are: took out double chimney breasts, taking out the dividing wall between kitchen and dining room, Skimming/Plastering, fitted new kitchen, bathroom, fitting flooring, re-routing plumbing to drainage, replacing skirting boards, hanging doors, painting the whole house inside/outside.

Robert is always happy to go the extra mile, with extra little jobs not originally in scope and use his initiative as and when needed. The team are very hard working and work at a high standard. When the days job is done - They always tidy up after themselves! You can see how hard they work and it shows in the quality of work that they do! I just love my new kitchen, bathroom and lounge – (tiling, carpentry and painting work is just fantastic) I would definitely recommend the team to anyone.
